Will the notebookwings work with my laptop?

The notebookwings work with almost ALL notebooks. They work with Mac, Windows, Linux, Chromebook and any device with a video output source.

Below is a deeper dive for more specific compatibility questions. You are also welcome to send us your questions via the
contact form.

Please note that some notebooks only support one notebookwings display at a time. You can find more information on this at the bottom of this page in the compatibility section.

As shown, the notebookwings have 3 inputs per display, making different setups possible.

If your laptop has two Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C with DisplayPort output, the easiest way to use the notebookwings is with the two supplied USB-C cables. In this setup you only need two USB-C cables to use both displays.

If your laptop does not have a Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C with DisplayPort output, you must use a USB-A to USB-C cable and an HDMI to mini-HDMI cable for each display to ensure the power supply and to receive a video signal .

If your laptop does not have an HDMI output, you can use all of the other video outputs shown below by inserting a corresponding HDMI adapter (not included, but available separately from us). It is important that your laptop has at least two video outputs and at least two USB outputs in order to be able to use both displays of the notebook wing at the same time.

Basically, your device needs power and a video signal for each display.

Each of the notebookwings' two displays requires both power and a video signal to function. Your laptop will serve as the source for the power and the video signal. The inputs that you use for your setup depend on the connections on your laptop.

Check the edges of your laptop (or your laptops's user manual) and identify the types of video ports and USB ports your laptop has. Laptop video connections come in many different formats:

HDMI, DisplayPort, Mini-DisplayPort, VGA, Thunderbolt 3, and USB 3.0 (with HDMI adapter) are a few examples.
